Eighty two large South African companies participated in this study on strategies, practices and skills for competitiveness in the digital economy - in that manner demonstrating their willingness and commitment to contribute towards the local understanding and exploration of this topic.

Against the changing paradigm towards a progressively digitalised economy and an increasingly digitally infused society, South Africa is reported to lag behind in terms of its digital readiness.
